Graham Leng’s Fast Ride, Coast to Coast

Congratulations to Graham Leng who recently cycled ‘Coast to Coast’ from Seascale to Whitby in one day! It was a tough 150 mile ride with over 11,000 feet of climbing which included Hard Knott Pass and Wrynose Pass in the Lake District (over 30% gradiants in places).

Graham was riding in an event which comprised 868 cyclists and although this wasn’t supposed to be a race he finished in 168th position. That’s no mean feat as Graham was the oldest cyclist and he managed an overall average ride speed of 15.o1 mph!

There will be more details about Graham’s ride in the Autumn newsletter to be issued on 1st September.

Well done Graham and congratulations for winning a Silver Medal. A great achievement
    – just don’t expect us to keep up that pace in France next September when we meet up again.
